After the first COVID-19 lockdown, our client—an AWS Solutions Architect and parent of two young children—learned she would likely be working remotely long-term. Working from home with young kids was challenging, so she wanted to convert her garage into a dedicated home office.
She needed an extra £80,000, but faced early repayment charges on her current mortgage, which was due for renewal in a year. Plus, her existing lender wasn’t willing to increase her borrowing.
